If anyone missed this today, the folks at Speed Sport did a nice video on how the EPA consistently tries to regulate motorsports. Without the vigilance of many of our lawmakers on both sides of the issue, this government entity would continue to do more harm to industries such as snowmobiling.
Our tiny industry is already under a microscope from the EPA, and motorsports has long been in the crosshairs of activists. The simple fact is that regulations that have been imposed on our manufacturers over the last 12 years have hurt the industry and snowmobiling community. Not to mention that the technology development in snowmobiling, being such a small industry, is really second to none. We have extremely clean, quiet, and powerful machines today ... but they come at a price, and a large part of that price tag is due to EPA regulations.
Anyway, that is my mini-rant for this Thursday afternoon. Take a look at the video below. It is interesting and gives some background into the Clean Air Act and how the EPA has used that against motorsports. Thankfully, there are representatives and activists fighting for our freedom of over-reaching control into our sport.
