When snow is scarce, sledders have to come up with creative ways to get their snowmobiling fix. One solution is to use one of the hottest new tools on the technology market – virtual reality (VR).

That's exactly what the Arctic Cat 360 experience does. At event displays and dealerships, Arctic Cat Inc. has been offering consumers fully immersive, virtual rides via Samsung Gear VR headsets powered by Oculus.

By donning the headset, snowmobilers of all ages get to experience the heart-pumping adrenaline of steep drops and hillclimbs in an incredibly realistic, 360-degree virtual reality world. It also offers a glimpse of what it might be like to ride through the backcountry mountains with Rob Kincaid and Dave McClure. With a simple turn of the head, riders can check out the incredible views all around them at this dream snowmobiling destination. Check out the teaser for the Arctic Cat 360 experience below. “This remarkable technology brings a virtual demo ride experience to consumers without leaving our event display or showroom floor. This is one more way we are providing the Ultimate Off-Road Riding Experience,” said Greg Williamson, Arctic Cat chief marketing officer. “Arctic Cat launched the snowmobile virtual reality ride along with pro backcountry snowmobilers, Rob Kincaid and David McClure, in March at our snowmobile dealer show. In every region of North America where we have displayed this snowmobile-focused VR experience, the success has been amazing. This has led us to launch a second Wildcat ride along with Tony Stewart. Experiencing virtual reality, together with our other event activation touch points, has continued to drive customer conversion to Arctic Cat products.”

The new Wildcat VR experience was recently launched at Rally on the Rocks in Moab, Utah. Off-road enthusiasts get to "drive" the side-by-side with Tony Stewart as a co-pilot, exploring the world’s best rock climbing and Utah's red sand riding. Riders can take in incredible views while traversing a variety of terrain and climbing to the top of a Grand Canyon-like overlook.
