This weekend (June 9-11), representatives from national, state and provincial snowmobile organizations will gather at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center in Rapid City, S.D., for the 48th Annual International Snowmobile Congress (ISC). Snowmobiling contributes an estimated $30 billion of economic activity in North America alone, but the sport is not without its challenges. The ISC provides a forum to discuss international issues faced by the sport.
More than 400 snowmobile leaders from the United States, Canada, Russia and Sweden are expected to attend the ISC, including representatives from the following major snowmobiling associations:
American Council of Snowmobile Associations (ACSA)
- Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations (CCSO)
- International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association (ISMA)
- International Association of Snowmobile Administrators (IASA)
- International Snowmobile Media Council (ISMC)
- International Snowmobile Tourism Council (ISTC)
- International Snowmobile Council
Individual participants include representatives from snowmobile and groomer manufacturers; state and federal administration, national, regional and state snowmobile associations, local state snowmobile clubs, recreational motorized enforcement agencies; tourism and media.
Hosted by the South Dakota Snowmobile Association, the ISC will feature workshops, general sessions, keynote speakers, a trade show, an off-site event, fundraisers, hospitality venues and an awards banquet. All of these activities involve all aspects of snowmobiling and all levels of snowmobilers from young to seasoned, from trail riders to backcountry riders, and from key decision makers and leaders to local club members.
The ISC is dedicated to the development of strategies on our common role with respect to the environment, conservation, access, education and accountability. It is the perfect opportunity to establish relationships with key snowmobile leaders and share ideas with the snowmobiling community.
