After being cancelled for the first time in its history last year, NH SnoDeo is back to celebrate its 25th anniversary (March 3-4). Organized by the Swift Diamond Riders Snowmobile Club, SnoDeo is an annual New Hampshire event that allows snowmobilers to test ride the next model year of snowmobiles. All four of the major snowmobile manufacturers (Arctic Cat, Polaris, Ski Doo and Yamaha) arrive with their new models. This year, a new company will be offering test rides: Moto-Trax of Moscow, Idaho, is bringing its snow bikes.
SnoDeo 2017 will be taking place at a new location. Organizers made the decision to move the event from its longtime home in Coleman State Park to a four-acre site behind the Swift Diamond Riders’ warming hut on Diamond Pond Road in Stewartstown, N.H.
“We had maxed out the area we were using in Coleman," said Swift Diamond Riders president Tim Anderson. "We also were looking to control our costs better by moving to the Club’s own land. We’re fortunate that it’s a location that snowmobilers already know.”
Anderson noted that the Club feels that the move ensures a solid future for SnoDeo.
The popular vintage snowmobile tent is also returning to the event after a two-year hiatus. Rave X Performance’s annual freestyle show and autograph session will take place on Saturday morning.
Log Haven in Millsfield, N.H., and White Mountain distributors will be hosting a new beer-tasting event to help raise additional funds for the Swift Diamond Riders Club and SnoDeo. “Braaps & Brews” is scheduled for Friday, March 3, 6-8 p.m. Henniker Brewery and 603 Brewing Co. will feature local craft beers for tastings. The Swift Diamond Riders, organizer South End Media and the event’s hosts are promising a fun and responsible event that they hope will become a SnoDeo tradition.
The Swift Diamond Riders Club is a snowmobile club based in West Stewartstown, N.H. SnoDeo raises funds for trail maintenance, as well as other club activities that promote snowmobiling in New Hampshire’s North Country. To learn more about the event and the club, visit www.nhsnodeo.com.
