Due to some 2017 850 E-TEC models experiencing driveline issues, Ski-Doo is making a few updates to the 2018 Summit and Freeride models. Here's a list of the changes:
- Finned fixed pDrive sheave
- Revised CVT calibration
- New belt
- New gearing (Summit and Freeride)
- Revised PTO and MAG engine mount
- Better cooling in CVT compartment - new clutch cover and improved flow
Ski-Doo says these changes will result in the reduction of belt temperatures by 27-72 degrees F (15-40 degrees C).
According to the press release: "While the majority of 2017 850 E-TEC owners have had no issues, we always strive for zero issues. So 2018 sleds will have the changes above to address concerns. We are still looking into the issue for 2017 850 E-TEC owners."
