NSSR held its final race of the year in Chetek, Wis. on February 23.
The third race of the NSSR 2013 Super Series, called Winterfest, occurred with temperatures ranging from 22 to 34 degrees.
The 1000 foot shaved ice track was aimed to the East and slightly North. The wind was a quartering tail wind. Nearly 800 fans and race supporters were on hand to witness the record setting runs throughout the day.
Racer entries included 96 on the Pro track and 95 on the Fun Run track for nearly 740 passes between the two shaved ice tracks. NSSR Racers posted eight new World Records at this race. The Fun Run track had some hot rod ATV’s, one in the mod class running a fast 115.91 mph and the Rockin’ Kawasaki Motorcycle running at 98.85 mph on studs. Nearly 43 of the 96 Pro Entries ran at speeds of 120 mph or better in this competition.
Top Speed of the day honor was captured by Jack Henricks on his Henricks Powersports/OSP Yamaha Machine at 182.663 mph in the 1000 foot mark. Jack continues to tune on the turbo charged Four Stroke Yamaha and is making great progress in accomplishing his goal of breaking the 183.439 mph World Record currently held by Fast Eddie Ensor in 1000 feet on ice.
Jack Henricks also holds the NSSR Quarter Mile Record at 190.728 mph currently.
All records require a run within 2% to back up their World Record run.
