San Marino Racing announce it will compete in 2014 NHRA Div 1 Ultimax Belts ProStock Snowmobile Series and on a limited schedule in the 2014 Mello Yello NHRA Prostock Motorcycle class .
In preparation for the historic NHRA Gatornationals at Autoplus Raceway in Gainesville, Florida; team pilot Brian Pretzel will renew his PSM license this off season aboard a Suzuki prepped from Gann Speed Shop. Gann Speed Shop will provide the engines and technical support for the team. After a failed mid season (off track accident) attempt to renew his PSM license; Brian is thrilled to be back aboard 2 wheel vehicle.
On a limited schedule Brian drove is way to 3 Wallys in as many races during the NHRA Div 1 2013 Ultimax Prostock sled series; also attending 2 Div 3 snowmobile events and making both finals while setting an Et Record of 8.19 at the 2013 Spring Spectacular (Lucas Oil Raceway Park). Once the team switched the new Mark Herek built engine, the team went on tallying a round record for the 2013 season to an astonishing 18/2 round record; thus proving that the teams accomplishment of first 7 second pass (7.96et @ nearly 162 mph) in history on a Prostock 1000cc during the SGMP 2013 Pre-gator testing was no accident. The team relies on the knowledge of Northeast Ohio Dyno; along with at the track tuning Patrick Klingeman of Northeast Ohio Dyno provides dyno testing; engine development, fuel management systems.
The team is primarily backed by San Marino Excavating Incorporated; founded in 1997 by its CEO/President Joseph Marino Riccardi Sr and Steve Callaghan.
