December 6th, 2014 was a day that all the Cor PowerSports racers had been looking forward to as it was the start of the 2015 cross country race season but it was also a terrain race! When our crew arrived on Thursday we were greeted to just about 2’ of snow but on Friday temps were mid 30’s and we had lost a few inches, we had planned a 7-8 mile course but with the warm temps the marsh area was just way too wet for us to use so we were forced to cut the course down to approx. 5 miles. This 5 miles though included everything cross country is for Cor PowerSports; wood’s, power line, fire roads, and fields.

Saturday morning when we arrived to the track we found the finish line area to be flooded from another night of warm temps and melting snow, the crew from VVQ Land which was the host site hauled snow in and filled in this area the best they could which actually made it something very interesting for spectators as it became multiple lines, small doubles, & for a number of riders a small swimming pool to cool off after a hot lap.

Riders and crew now have 33 days off to figure out what they need to work on, get more testing time, and be better prepared before rounds 2 & 3 of the Cor PowerSports race season on Jan 10-11 in Lac Du Flambeau, WI at the Lake of the Torches Casino.
