Here we are at 4:30am on Sat February 28 on our way to the fastest four lane race track in the northeast Excell Raceway Park in Bouckville, NY. Aaron Excell of Excell Motor Sports has been working hard to make this venue the best around. This year he has added LED lighting to the track in hopes to hold some night events in the future.
We arrived at the track a little after 7am and the racers were filing in. This was going to be a large event with racers coming from as far away as Pennsylvania and Canada. Some of the teams consisted of WakPak Racing, Swoyer Racing, Sled Tek Racing and Team 909 Racing. All of the racers were looking for some fast racing on an outstanding track.
There were 33 classes for racers to enter ranging from 120’s all the way to Lake Racers and Outlaw. The racing started as schedule and the spectators filled the stands and lined the fences all anticipating a great show. The racing started with what some call the most entertaining and fun class of the 120‘s. The day continued with some great racing with all the other classes with some having almost 30 entries.
One of the great things of the facility is it is a 500’ track with a 1500’ shut down and can handle the big power of Outlaw and Lake Racer classes. Aaron Excell has one of the fastest Yamahas around but, there was some new power around the track with the big turbo Arctic Cat of Chris Rositano built by D&D Performance and the new turbo from WakPak Racing built by Priceless Performance. The racing went on throughout the day and into the evening. Allowing us to see the track all lit up with the new lights, which was quite impressive.
