Conditions are prime for the Midwest Extreme Snowmobile Challenge taking place April 18-19 in Lutsen, Minn. Lutsen Mountain has PLENTY of snow stock piled in reserves for this event, they put in thousands of hours making snow from October until March to ensure there is plenty of snow in place for the April event!
Over the past week we have been receiving alot of inquiries from people wondering how conditions have been holding up at Lutsen Mountain, we tell everyone what the information we have been given weekly on how conditions were but without proof people sometimes don't want to believe what they are hearing so we asked Lutsen to send us some pics.
Well we received this message, picture, and even better yet a video from Lutsen yesterday that was shot this weekend:
"Temperatures spiked to a record 70 degrees in the Twin Cities, yet a few hours north and a world away we have ideal conditions for spring ski vacations. Highs near 40 and below freezing temps every night will bring us into April. With a base of 2’ to 4’ and plenty of snow stashed in reserve, daily operations through April 12th should be a breeze with a possibility for a few weekends beyond that.
We spent the weekend shooting video for stock footage of Lutsen Mountains.
While most of this is intended for projects next year, attached is a quick edit that shows how glorious a spring day at Lutsen can be. Go to https://youtu.be/C1l78WohY6Q to check out the video!."
Also big news for the Midwest Extreme Snowmobile Challenge presented by Rox Speed FX is we have brought in a great announcer with a huge history of announcing in motorsports racing, Dean Norrell who announced for WSA Snocross, X Games, & the TORC Off-Road series will be the on air person for the event. Dean will also be leading Sunday morning Chapel at the event.
