It was a soggy Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway, but that didn't stop the AmSnow crew from enjoying a day of NASCAR Sprint Cup racing. Our friends at Klim and 3M hosted AmSnow and a few other select industry folks, as well as the winners of Klim's Octane sweepstakes at the Food City 500.
The day's activities included a meet and greet with NASCAR legend, Jeff Gordon, pit passes, the pre-race drivers' meeting and much more. Klim athlete and backcountry expert, Chris Burandt, was there as well and enjoyed watching the world class abilities of these professional drivers. It was an awesome experience that any motor sports fan could appreciate!
The powerhouse technology company 3M sponsored the No. 24 Gordon car for several races this season. 3M and Klim have a well documented partnership in producing some of the best technical riding gear for snowmobilers and the rest of the motor sports industry. That partnership has resulted in improved garment performance and safety for consumers. 3M technologies commonly used in manufacturing Klim garments include Thinsulate Insulation and Scotchlite Reflective Material.
Even with several rain delays, the racing action couldn't have been much more exciting. Gordon raced his No. 24 Chevrolet up from 20+ places back to be in contention for the win on the final lap. Ultimately he finished third behind Jimmie Johnson and race winner Matt Kenseth, but this long race certainly had some action!
Our thanks to 3M and Klim for showing us a great time at this event! And look for even more collaboration between these two companies in the near future.
