We recently became acquainted with a relatively new brand of sportswear and outerwear called Moose Knuckles. This Canadian company does not take itself too seriously and seems to tout a "fun first" mentality. The website states that "Moose Knuckles is inspired by Canadian heritage, personality, sports and leisure from our nation’s obsession with ice hockey, to our reputation as the class clown of the global schoolhouse." If the semi-provocative brand name and logo aren’t enough, the company describes itself as "ballsy and playful with a 'no holds barred' kind of attitude."
The Moose Knuckles clothing lineup is designed to be both classic and edgy with subtle details. From the Fall/Winter 2015 catalog, the men's and women's Snow-Job Ski Jackets caught our eye. The Polartec shell is waterproof and wind-resistant, and underarm zipper vents enhance breathability. The sporty jackets are insulated with grey duck down, and a zip-off hood is edged with recycled silver fox fur. Inside the jackets, you'll find handy pockets for goggles, electronic devices and more. The Snow-Job jacket ($1,200) will be available as part of a limited ski collection starting in September 2015.
For those with far more expensive tastes, Moose Knuckles offers an exclusive Diamond Series Parka. This jacket features classic MK styling and warmth with a luxurious twist: the Knuckles logo on the sleeve is embellished with five carats of diamonds set on leather trims. And that's not all; each jacket order includes an all-expenses paid trip to Montreal to enjoy a custom fitting while staying in a five-star hotel. How much for all of this royal treatment, you ask? A cool $35,000.
A little excessive? Maybe, but one thing is clear: this company is thinking high-class fun outside the "very expensive" box.
