University of Wisconsin-Madison's Clean Snowmobile Challenge 2013 team surveyed consumers and found responsible handling and quick acceleration the most important items in purchasing a new sled.
The team released this information during their presentation at the International Snowmobile Congress in Green Bay, Wis. on June 7.
A survey was done before the team began building the sled. Wisconsinites in Kenosha and Eagle River, Wis. who belonged to a snowmobile club were asked what was the most important factor in buying a new sled. Of the 120 snowmobilers surveyed the majority response was for responsible handling and quick acceleration.
The team took first place in the internal combustion (IC) category, of the 2013 Society of Automotive Engineers Clean Snowmobile Challenge, held at Michigan Technological University’s Keweenaw Research Center (KRC) in March.
It was the fifth time Madison took first place in the IC category.
