YOU asked, THEY answered. Colten Moore and Levi LaVallee took time out of their busy schedules at X Games Aspen to answer questions from fans and Mystik Lubricants.
PART 1
Q1: What bones have you broken?
Levi LaVallee (LL): Oh, I broke my heel, broke my leg.
Colten Moore (CM): Left ankle, twice.
LL: Dislocated my wrist, separated both my shoulders.
CM: Both femurs and pelvis at the same time.
LL: Busted some vertebrae, cracked my pelvis. If you make it through them, they make you stronger.
CM: Yeah.
Q2: If your sled could talk, what would you ask it?
LL: I would say “do I feel heavy? Does that hurt when we land hard?”
CM: “Hey sled, could you please make me look awesome?”
LL: Yeah. “Could you help me out here?”
Q3: Why should recreational riders use Mystik?
LL: You’re getting a synthetic lubricant that is top notch.
CM: You don’t want to be paying extra to fix something that’s screwed up because you don’t have Mystik in it, you know? So it keeps your sled running cleaner and, therefore, less breakdowns.
Q4: Why do your mechanics use Mystik?
LL: We use Mystik just because we’ve had such great results. I remember when we first tried the … the oil, they took the exhaust pedals off and they’re like, “these things are spotless.”
CM: Safety is like a No. 1 issue with us. And if we screw up, that’s fine, but your sled’s screwing up, that’s what you’re putting in it, and that’s why we trust Mystik.
Q5: What other kind of professional athlete could you be?
CM: Video games. Video games and X Games now, I’m pretty good at those. Choo choo choo choo, playing some video games.
LL: Well, I’m about the size of a jockey so I could get into that. I’m a little heavy for it, though.
Q6: What big tricks do you have planned for X Games 2016?
CM: We’ll see.
LL: Yeah.

Q1: If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would it be?
LL: You know, one place that would be pretty neat to ride, I think it would be cool to go to Antarctica and ride. You know, I doubt they’re ever gonna let me take my snowmobile there, but …
CM: I’m in.
LL:… if I could.
CM: You hook that up and I’m gonna be on call.
LL: We’re going for it?
Q2: Which X Games events do you like to watch?
CM: What’s the one where they hunt, like, the big … ?
LL: You can see the landing from the road, you know, as you pull up, and you’re like “wow.” The big ski …
CM: That’s the big air, right? Yeah, ski and air.
LL: And now they’re like spinning and flipping and they’re doing so much. You like, they get done and you’re like …
CM:“What just happened?”
LL:“What is that?”
Q3: Do you have a special diet when training?
LL: You know, from my racing background, is a little more structured with what I eat. But as we come into X Games, I try to reel it in a little bit.
CM: I probably should get better about it, but I’m like “pizza, dude.”
LL: Been eating well, huh?!
Q4: Does your home state have any unique sayings?
LL: There’s definitely a Minnesota twang. “Yah, you betcha,” that type of thing.
CM: Texas is pretty close. “Y’all. Y’all wanna go down under?”
Q5: What advice would you give an up-and-coming rider?
CM: Dude, take a step back, like have fun with it. Like don’t worry about it. And like I’ve had to tell myself that, you know, like it’s fun, that’s why we do it. So if you start stressing and hating it, then why are you doing it, you know?
LL: Right.
Q6: What advice would you give to each other?
CM: No, I ain’t giving him no advice.
LL: He’s my competition!
