Tom Clement has been named USXC Racing’s Media Relations Coordinator for the upcoming 2013-2014 season.

Clement brings a diverse background of experience to the position and will assume a variety of responsibilities throughout the season.

Clement is a native of Grand Forks, ND and currently teaches in the Department of Entrepreneurship at the University of North Dakota.  He spent six years in the power sports business as a dealer and has been a contributing columnist to American Snowmobiler Magazine and AmSnow's website since 2005.  An avid snowmobile and motorcycle enthusiast, Clement has several years of cross country snowmobile race experience, as well as thousands of miles of recreational riding.

Clement’s responsibilities as USXC Racing Media Relations Coordinator include pre and post-race media promotion for each event, coordinating viral race highlight videos, and working with social media outlets, like Facebook. Brian Nelson, former champion cross country racer and USXC owner wants to continue improving and refining communication efforts with major newspapers and media outlets, especially in areas where USXC stages racing events.  “I am very pleased someone with Tom’s experience is available to work with us,” commented Nelson, “with Tom’s help, we can grow the circuit and make it the premier snowmobile race venue in the country.”

Clement sees his new position as another opportunity to pursue his passion and stay connected with the power sports industry.  “Anyone that knows me knows I love snowmobiles and I love cross country racing. I believe it’s the purest, most realistic form of snowmobile racing around,” Clement said.  “When Brian (Nelson) offered me this opportunity, I couldn’t wait to get started and the chance to work with such an accomplished racer like Brian made it even more exciting.”

USXC (United States X-Country) Racing is entering its second season and holds such events as the Gerald Dyrdahl Pine Lake 200, the Park Rapids 100, and the legendary Seven Clans Casino I-500 near Thief River Falls, MN.  Weather permitting; fans and racers can expect about eight cross country race events each season in a variety of different locations and terrain conditions. Watch for exciting announcements on upcoming events currently in the works.

USXC Racing can be reached at (320) 894-5839 or info@usxcracing.com.  Clement can be contacted directly via email at tac@gra.midco.net.
