Chili dumps, poker runs and frying of odd fish are all staples in the snowmobile club fundraising world, but one club in southeast Wisconsin is taking a fresh approach to fundraising. The Snow Runners LTD snowmobile club is hosting it's third annual Moonlight Meltdown 5K/10K run on April 16, 2016 in Belgium, Wis.
The run begins at 8:00 P.M. with registration starting at 6:00 P.M. or you can pre-register online at www.moonlightmeltdown.com. Registration fees are $25 for the 5/10K if you pre-register online before April 12, and $30 on the day of the race. Pre-registration also guarantees participants a race day t-shirt. Along with the run, there's also a silent auction with prizes for snowmobilers and runners alike, a 50/50 raffle, and post-race party will greet runners with food, beverages, music and more! Serious runners will be glad to know this is a chip-timed event, but those less-than-serious runners/walkers will be glad to know there are plenty of participants who are out for a stroll among friends.
It's a great fundraiser for the snowmobile club, but that's not all. The Snow Runners are doubling down and splitting the proceeds of this event with the Belgium Fire and Rescue Department as well. Participants can look at it as a two-for-one fundraising effort to help keep the 70+ miles of trail maintained by the Snow Runners in pristine condition AND help keep the surrounding community safe.
