This past weekend we headed out to Kissing Bridge Ski Resort in Glenwood, N.Y. for the first annual KB Moto Hill Climb. They geared this event to entice the everyday trail rider to try their hand at Hill Drags. They where planning on a large turn out and with an abundant number of phone calls in regards to the event it sounded like they had succeeded. We arrived at the event a little after 8am and the parking lot quickly started to fill up with trucks and trailers loaded with sleds from 120’s to some Big Turbo rides. The crew from Jan-Cen Motorsports were on hand to take care of tech and running the racing. The crew from Kissing Bridge headed up by Janey Wierzba ran the sign up and staging.
With the sleds rolling in it looked like the count was going to be big and the competition fierce. A total of 110 racers and sleds showed up to the event to fill 33 classes. Some of the bigger classes were 800 stock money, 600 stock money and they even had 8 little 120’s show up to race really showing the family orientation of the event. The event ended up with a 190 entries in 23 classes.
So with that all being said lets get to some results. Just some of the bigger classes winners are Tyler Miller in 600 stock money which had 18 entries. The other big winners were Robert Bauer III won 800 stock money, Nick Snyder won 1000 stock money and Kenny Pielechowski won King of the Hill. KB Moto will be posting the complete list of results at http://kbski.com/kbmoto .
With the completion of this event and having such a good turn out Kissing Bridge hopes to grow the events. They are looking to more of these in the following years. For their first event of this kind they only had a few issues and I am sure they will resolve those for future events. I spoke with Rich Fanelli owner of Kissing Bridge who was very happy about the turn out for the event and looking forward to growing this event like they have with their KB moto events they do all summer long. They are big supporters of motor sports in their area. Please check out their website for a schedule of the Hare Scrambles and multiple other events they hold all summer long.
